When you arrive in Delhi, head to your boarding point. From there, you’ll take an AC Volvo overnight bus to Manali, with a stop in Aut along the way.
Early in the morning, your bus will arrive at the Aut Tunnel, where you will get off and be taken to Jibhi in a private vehicle. Once you arrive in Jibhi, check in to your hotel and relax for a bit. Jibhi, located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, is a charming village surrounded by nature, perfect for those looking for an offbeat experience. As you settle into Jibhi, a popular spot for backpackers, you can enjoy trout fishing and explore the Great Himalayan National Park. You will spend the night at your hotel in Jibhi.
Rise early to a lovely sunrise in Jibhi and enjoy a tasty breakfast. After that, you’ll journey through the lush Deodar forests, taking in stunning valley views, snow-capped mountains, and rushing rivers. Once you arrive in Rampur, check in to your hotel and take some time to rest. In the evening, feel free to explore the area around the hotel before returning for the night. You will spend the night in Rampur.
Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise. After enjoying a tasty breakfast, you’ll head out to see the breathtaking views of Kinnaur Valley. Travel along the Sutlej River to Karcham, where you’ll turn right towards Chitkul, following the Baspa River. Chitkul is the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border, and you can visit the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’ for a delicious meal. You’ll spend the night and have dinner at a hotel or homestay in Chitkul. When you arrive in Rampur, check in to your hotel and relax for a bit. In the evening, take some time to explore the area around the hotel. Later, head back to the hotel for the night, where you will stay in Rampur.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you’ll set off for Kalpa. You’ll drive back to Karcham, then head further into the valley towards Powari. At Powari, take a left turn towards ReoKong Peo, the main town of the Kinnaur district, before continuing on to Kalpa. Spend the night in the lovely village of Kalpa, which offers views of the Kinnaur Kailash mountains. You’ll stay overnight at a camp or homestay in Kalpa.
After breakfast in the morning, you’ll head to Kaza, traveling through the stunning Spiti Valley. Along the way, you’ll take the Indo-Tibet Highway and cross the Khab Bridge, where the Spiti and Satluj Rivers meet. You’ll stop briefly at Nako Lake for lunch before entering Spiti Valley right after you pass Sumdo. Just 3 km past Sumdo, you’ll take a right turn through the gate to visit the 500-year-old mummy in Gue Village. After your visit, you’ll continue on to Kaza, where you’ll spend the night.
After breakfast in the morning, head out to discover the stunning beauty of Kaza. Start by visiting the Key Gompa Monastery, which is beautifully located between the mountains in a bowl-shaped valley near Langza in Spiti Valley. Langza sits at an impressive height of around 14,500 feet above sea level and is one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road. Nearby, Komic Village holds the title of the highest village. Hikkim, located close to Kaza, is also one of the highest inhabited places in India that is occupied year-round. After exploring the charming villages of Langza, Hikkim, and Komik, return to your hotel in Kaza for the night.
After breakfast, you’ll head towards your next stop, the stunning crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake. Once you pass Kunzum La, take a right turn before Baltal to reach the lake. The beauty here is breathtaking, but you’ll need to park your vehicles and trek for two kilometers to get to the lake. Located in the Spiti region of the Lahaul and Spiti district, Chandratal Lake is also known as “Moon Lake” because of its crescent shape. The lake is surrounded by mountains on one side and a cirque on the other. After sunset, the lake sparkles under the starry sky, enhancing its charm. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the camps near Chandratal.
Today, you’ll leave the Spiti Valley and begin your journey to Manali. As you travel, you’ll cross the Rohtang Pass and arrive in Manali by evening. Once you get there, check in to your hotel and relax for a bit. In the evening, feel free to explore the local markets in Manali and shop for souvenirs. You’ll spend the night at the hotel in Manali.
After breakfast, you’ll board an AC Volvo bus from Manali to Delhi, arriving in Delhi by evening. This will conclude your memorable tour of Spiti Valley.
